Here's what's new

Ervy Web now has a help centre with step-by-step guides. New users who sign in with a Microsoft account also get the AI Essentials for a Future-Proof Career sample course to start with.

What changed

• You’ll find the new help centre under Support in the sidebar. It includes step-by-step guides with screenshots, contextual help on individual pages and a way to send feedback. The guides are available in all six supported interface languages.

• New users who sign in to Ervy Web with a Microsoft account are now automatically assigned the AI Essentials for a Future-Proof Career sample course. When they complete it, a congratulations dialog suggests creating their own course. Users who haven’t created a course yet also see a banner in Courses with a link showing how.

• In “Generate more lessons”, the source list now shows quality check results for all sources, including ones uploaded before source checks were introduced. You’ll see “No issues found” or the number of potential issues. Previously, these sources showed no result.

We’ve just released Fact Check. It's a new step in course creation that reviews the document you upload and flags facts that look wrong or outdated before they reach your employees.

Courses are only as accurate as the documents behind them, and documents age. Regulations change, deadlines move, and an outdated policy turned into training spreads the mistake to every employee. Fact Check catches it first.

How it works

• Course overview: at the top of each course, you see how many lessons contain findings.

• Lesson markers: each affected lesson is marked in the course list, so you know exactly where to look.

• Two levels of findings: "Likely incorrect" means the fact likely contradicts current rules or data and should be fixed before publishing. "Worth confirming" means it may be right but deserves confirmation.

• Up-to-date regulations: recent dates and newly adopted rules in your document aren't flagged as errors just because they're new.

For example, if your data protection policy says the company has 7 days to notify the regulator of a breach, Fact Check marks that lesson as possibly incorrect, because GDPR sets the deadline at 72 hours.

You stay in control. Fact Check shows you what to review, and you decide what goes out.

• More accurate PDF reading, which gives you cleaner lessons from complex documents

• Better handling of large documents, so less content gets left out of generation

• A smoother course creation wizard, with clear guidance when a source or instructions are missing

• Protection against deleting sources that are still used in a course

• An updated Ervy app for Microsoft Teams (version 2.73.0), with file support in the Ervy bot

Fact Check is available now for everyone who creates courses in your organisation.

Course generation errors now show up in Ervy Web, not just in Ervy in Teams, so you're no longer left wondering when generation fails. Error messages have been improved in several places, signing in has fewer interruptions, and text recognition in scanned documents works better.

What changed

• If course generation fails, you'll now see the error in Ervy Web as well. Previously, it was only shown in Microsoft Teams.

• The lesson view, course list and leaderboard now show a clear error message with an option to try again if something goes wrong while loading.

• Network errors and server errors now have separate messages, so it's clearer what went wrong.

• Fixed an issue in Ervy Hub and Ervy Web where, after your device had been asleep for a long time, your session couldn't be restored and you had to restart your browser to continue. Your session is now restored correctly.

• Ervy Web now requests the access it needs right when you sign in, instead of afterwards, so there are fewer interruptions during sign-in.

• Text recognition (OCR) for scanned documents now works in all six supported interface languages. Alongside English and Latvian, it now also recognizes German, Estonian, Lithuanian and Romanian, detecting the document's language automatically, so the AI Teacher for each course works from accurately recognized text.

• Uploaded files with diacritics in their names, such as ā or ļ, are now processed correctly.

• Fixed a visual issue in Ervy Web and Ervy in Microsoft Teams where the course card menu covered the generation status indicator.

Share a self-paced course by email

You can now share a self-paced course by adding your colleague’s email address. They get a link to open it, and a Teams notification if they're already in Ervy. Both you and everyone you've shared with can see the full list of people who have access.

Analytics for shared courses

Shared self-paced courses now report the same way the rest do, so you can see who opened a course and who finished it.

Teams notifications

There's a new notification engine behind Ervy. Once a workspace turns it on, people get:

• a welcome card when they join

• a reminder after three days if they haven't created or received a course

• deadline reminders a week, three days and one day before a course is due

• a nudge if a course was assigned and never opened

• a card when they finish a course

Anyone can opt out, and admins can opt the whole workspace out.

If you sign into Ervy Web with your email address, your session now stays active while you're working instead of ending after a fixed time. The podcast lesson player on mobile devices has also been improved, and progress saving for long podcast lessons has been fixed.

What changed

• Sessions for users who sign in to Ervy Web with their email address are now based on activity. Your session continues while you're working and ends after 60 minutes of inactivity, with a maximum length of 24 hours. Previously, sessions ended after a fixed time.

• Several fixes for the podcast lesson player on mobile devices: seeking and progress tracking work better when playing with the screen locked or in the background. Previously, learners didn't get progress credit for background listening.

• Fixed an issue where progress in long or complex podcast lessons could fail to save.
